Why dance?

The physical art of dance sparks a process called “kinesthetic empathy” which allows viewers to emotionally connect with the performer’s movements. It’s through this emotional connection that we experience empathy, and with empathy we have the capacity to unite people in a common cause.

Why do emotional connections matter?

As explained in this TED-talk by Karen Eber, the process of decision making starts in the amygdala - the emotional control center of the human brain. Sharing personal stories connected to critical social issues can emotionally impact audiences, triggering the neurological response compelling people to act in support of that cause.
